Pinner

When I say the name Pinner,

a furry, simple, loveable cat

comes marching promtly to me,

sorta smiling, but you can never tell.

His big round green eyes gazing

into mine, seeing his heart-shaped nose,

loving him truly, always,

unconditionally like a child.

I was his first master, true,

to be with him till the end, my Pinner

taken care of him since birth,

the only survivor from the litter.

As he grew we played, cuddled,

loving each other, ever so greatly,

knowing he only has me

in this ever so vague manlike world.

Through those green eyes of Pinner

that is what this big scary place portrays,

vast and tall, wide and unknown,

to explore within the walls of my love.

I wake up in the mornings

to find him at my side, meowing loudly,

sometimes if you listen carefully,

sounds like he is trying to say something.

So if you have any pets,

remember they're an image of you, true,

a special kind of close friend

that will forever be there to the end.
