Mother, I'm Sorry
As a tear rolls down my cheek,
I think of the things I've said,
the words I've yelled,
the actions I've showed and
mother, I'm sorry.
For me to know that you hurt,
hurts me too inside,
for me to think back to before,
knowing I was wrong,
mother, I'm sorry.
Times like these pull out such anger,
every time this happens it's the same old story,
this time I see something different,
I see you as you are,
I see myself as I am
and I accept you into my arms,
mother, I'm sorry.
You are the most important person in my life,
to have given birth to me many years ago,
never regretted,
never neglected,
never meant any other way
but to love me unconditionally,
forever.
To fight with you brings tears to my eyes,
discovering your true reasons for your actions
so sweet.
What you do,
how you think,
is the best way for you, true,
mother, I'm sorry.
Oh mother, I love you so much,
to think of you gone forever,
a dreadful and excruciating pain
I hope never to experience,
I know I've hurt you and
mother, I'm sorry.
Apologies fill my eyes wet,
love fills my heart to forget,
our dispute so lame,
those feelings to tame,
for us to smile once again.
Mother, I'm sorry.
Mother, I love you
always and forever.
